A striking and contemporary update to a 1980’s work space, York House combines bright, collaborative work spaces with a gym, café and expansive terraces. Working with dMFK architects, this  building was brought back to its elegant frame, creating airy spaces that make the most of the natural light. The existing building itself was renewed with a striking five-storey extension, featuring advanced sustainable materials. Inspired by post-war British interiors, including a sculpture from pioneering artist of the era Geoffrey Clarke. 

Newly created glazed openings at ground level and lower floors maximise daylight across the offices and communal lounges, while the tiered terraces bring it into upper levels. The latticed exterior brickwork by Webb Yates Engineers also allows subtle light to permeate throughout. Innovative details such as flooring made from recycled tyres and laminated timbers, a rainwater harvest system and natural air ventilation resulted in the Work Space achieving a BREEAM excellent certification, supported by premium insulation and solar panels.  

York House offers a fully equipped gym operated by fitness experts Manor, providing resistance, cardio, weights and classes for TOG members. You’ll also find a nutritionally balanced café on-site, and a comfortable, spacious screening room. The upper floors have been redesigned to maximise green space with tiered terraces, including a new terrace stretching the length of the 7th floor and clad in plum-coloured bricks, creating an elegant space for private events.
